Annual Report to Governor & General Assembly due Dec. 1 (Chapter 216, Acts of 2000).

Formed in October 2000, the Oversight Committee on Quality of Care in Nursing Homes became the Oversight Committee on Quality of Care in Nursing Homes and Assisted-Living Facilities on October 1, 2005 (Chapter 216, Acts of 2000; Chapter 400, Acts of 2005). The Committee evaluates progress in improving the quality of nursing home and assisted-living facility care statewide.

From the Maryland Department of Health, the Deputy Secretary of Health Care Financing reports annually to the Committee on the status of the Medicaid Nursing Home Reimbursement System. Annually, the Office of Health Care Quality in the Maryland Department of Health also reports to the Committee on implementation of the recommendations of the Task Force on Quality of Care in Nursing Facilities, and the status of quality of care in nursing homes. As the Committee reviews these reports, it develops further proposals on how to improve nursing home care (Code Health-General Article, sec. 19-1409).
